A skilled guitar player with a versatile voice, Paul Thomas accompanies himself on guitar while singing, an eclectic mix of often sensitive and poignant songs. Paul was also the brains behind “I Can’t Believe It’s Not a Folk Club” – a legendary acoustic night held at the Oddfellows Arms in Wimborne. He does not always play with the band due to having a proper job, but has been involved in many of the Polly Morris Band Shows playing guitar and bass as well as singing. Paul tells us that he is definitely not an actor, and has never been good at acting…However, we have ignored this and he has subsequently been cast in The Polly Morris Shows as a policeman, a choir master, an actor and Riff Raff from the Rocky Horror show. He has also managed to swap coats with another guitar player while continuing to play the guitar. We are deeply grateful for his adaptability.
Lee is one of those people that seems able to do practically anything. His sublime cello playing and his extraordinary tenor voice are well known and loved by all who have heard him in his new Duo “The Last Inklings”. However, his ability to play double bass, piano, violin and even the flute when required lead to many moments of amazement from the band, and, if we are honest, not a little envy! Lee also plays with Bob Whitely in The Magellan Circumnavigation so is pretty busy. Even though he is not a member of the band we do enjoy him when he plays with us!
